Rock and Wrap It Up! founder Syd Mandelbaum was one of 30 people who took part in a White House roundtable discussion about energy, water, food use and waste, and was one of the two featured speakers on Aug. 25.

Mandelbaum, a Cedarhurst resident, and others discussed best practices and he wrote a case study that included possible solutions to the associated problems involving these resources.

Cedarhurst-based Rock and Wrap It Up! is an anti-poverty think tank that seeks to reduce humankind’s carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, and helps to collect and distribute unused food to fee those in need.
