Noshing for a charitable cause

Cedarhurst-based anti-poverty think tank, Rock and Wrap It Up! hosted a Taste of Charity fundraiser and awareness event at the Seawane Club in Hewlett on Nov. 7, where nearly 30 local restaurants featured up to two of the best items on the menu. Wine and soft drinks were served, and kosher and non-kosher options were also available.

Money was raised through an auction of assorted sports and celebrity memorabilia, and a $75 advanced admission, $85 at the door or $100 per person for a reserved table in advance with a minimum of 10 people. Sponsorship levels were $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000. Each level included a listing on event signage and admission.
