Number Six School informational meeting postponed

The informational meeting by Simone Development Companies Simone Development Companies was holding concerning its plans for the Number Six School at the Woodmere Club on Wednesday is postponed due to the forecasted inclement weather.

Another meeting is expected to be scheduled in the near future, said Ben Weinstock, the attorney for Simone.

Simone, along with Mt. Sinai Hospital are proposing to establish a 60-doctor, 30-specialty medical center in the closed school building at 523 Church Ave. in Woodmere.

The school building and its 6.7-acre site would be purchased by Simone from the Lawrence School District for $12.5 million. Then Simone would lease the property to Mt. Sinai. The sale is subject to a public referendum scheduled for March 20.
