Lawrence School District Athletic Director Pat Pizzarelli will be one of eight honored by the National Federation of State High School Associations at the 44th annual National Athletic Directors Conference in Anaheim, Ca. on Dec. 16.
NFHS citations are presented in recognition of contributions made to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels.
Pizzarelli, who has been at Lawrence for 21 years, also coached football, lacrosse, basketball and wrestling. He began the lacrosse programs in Lawrence and the Plainedge School District, where he previously worked.
An active member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, Pizzarelli has served in several positions, helped to run New York’s Empire State Games and won multiple awards, including Amazing Physical Educator and Outstanding Athletic Administrator. He also serves as Lawrence’s assistant superintendent for student and community affairs.
