Police arrest four for cell phone store burglaries

Cedarhurst store was one of five robbed

Four Long Island men have been connected to a pattern of burglary that occurred between Nov. 10 of last year and Jan. 3, where they allegedly stole iPads and variety of cell phones from five cell phone stores, including the one in Cedarhurst, police said.

In addition to the one on Rockaway Turnpike on Nov.28, the thieves allegedly stole from a store in Massapequa on Nov. 10, Hempstead on Dec. 1, the Village of Flower Hill on Jan. 2 and Westbury on Jan. 3, and Cedarhurst on Nov. 28.

Valon Vailes, 19, of Fulton Avenue, Hempstead, who was previously arrested on Jan. 11, was charged with three counts of burglary-third degree. Charles Siebert, 19 of North Columbus Avenue, Kareem Edney, 19, of Rutland Road and Trevon Thompson, 18 of Hillside Avenue, all of Freeport.

Arrested on July 11, Siebert was charged with five counts of burglary-third degree, both Edney and Thompson were arrested on July 12. Edney was charged with five counts of burglary-third degree and Thompson was charged with four counts of burglary-third degree.
