Queens man charged in alleged Cedarhurst burglary

Nassau County police arrested a Queens man for an alleged burglary in Cedarhurst that took place on Christmas day at 5:40 a.m.

Marquis Silvers, 20, of Lanette Avenue, allegedly entered an occupied Oakwood Avenue residence and threatened a 20-year-old man who confronted him, police said. The man called the police Silvers took off. There were no reported injuries.

Silvers surrendered at the 4th Precinct in Hewlett Feb. 8, after the subsequent police investigation. He is charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree menacing. Silvers was arraigned on Feb. 9 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. As of press time, no further information is available.
