Light Rain Queens man fatally struck in Inwood

A Queens man was fatally struck by a Dodge Ram truck in front of this Inwood business at 23 Nassau Ave. on March 25.

A Queens man was killed when he was hit by a truck in Inwood at 5 p.m. on March 25, according to police.
Alexandre Pougatchev, 25, of Woodside, was walking in front of Pro Pump Corp. at 23 Nassau Ave. when he was struck by a 2014 Dodge Ram pick up, which was driven by a 49-year-old man, police said.
Pougatchev was taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, where he was pronounced dead by hospital at 6:05 p.m.
The truck was impounded and the county’s police fleet service bureau will conduct a brake and safety test. No criminality is suspected at this time, police said.
