Rachelle Lapidus, of Lawrence, competes in kosher cook-off

Posted

Rachelle Lapidus will be competing in the Man-O-Manischewitz Cook-Off — the only national kosher cooking competition in America, on March 18 at the Jewish Community Center of Manhattan. She was selected from over 2,000 entries nationwide, as one of the five finalists for her Creamy Tarragon Chicken recipe. The contest requires contestants to use Manischewitz’s newest product, its all-natural broth, made with real chicken and beef, which enables home chefs to expand their culinary creativity. Lapidus, 56, is a stay-at-home mother of six children and is also a grandmother and loves to cook for her big family. She also enjoys baking for friends’ parties. She volunteers every Saturday at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, where she spends time with seniors who come from area nursing homes and often do not have many

visitors.
