Nassau County Department of assessment staff will be available to help homeowners file for a variety of tax exemptions, including veterans, senior citizens, volunteer firefighters, ambulance workers and for the STAR program at the Five Towns Community Center at 270 Lawrence Ave. in Lawrence on Friday, Aug. 5 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
