Robot teams scrimmage at Hewlett High School

The inaugural Long Island Roborally a First Tech Challenge scrimmage and workshop was held at Hewlett High School last Sunday. The six-hour event was the first of its kind for the FTC and the only official scrimmage in the Long Island area featured nearly 20 schools.

There were robo/tech workshops and about 15 rounds of scrimmages. One of the two Hewlett entries — the 5477 Innovo — earned the most points — 145 — in one of the rounds. The 3540 Roboboogie was the school’s other tech entry.

On March 16-17, there will be a New York City/Long Island regional in Manhattan.
