Longtime North Woodmere resident Barbara Cohen died on Sept. 29. She was 69.

Cohen, a graduate of Oceanside High School, was a full-time mother before working in sales for The Lido Group in Lawrence.

Though she was not involved in any community organizations, Cohen was an active gym goer, according to her daughter Alisa. “She went to the gym six days a week,” Alisa said. “She was always out and about; she was a glass half full kind of person.”

Alisa said her mother enjoyed spending time with friends and family as well as going to Manhattan. “She was very upbeat, happy and loved life,” Alisa said.

Cohen is survived by her daughters Alisa Cantor and Pam Liebowitz, son-in-law Andrew Liebowitz, as well as grandchildren Brandon and Jordan Cantor, and Lexi and Remi Liebowitz. Her husband, Donald Cohen, predeceased her. They were married in 1963.

Services were held on Sept. 30 at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel in Hewlett. She was interred at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Lindenhurst.
