Young Israel of Hewlett hosted “Chesed in Chesvan for Chayalot,” a program that celebrated the service of women Israeli soldiers and sent them gifts, including cosmetics, beauty products and letters of support written by children.
Bat Ami ambassadors from local yeshivas and Israeli soldiers joined participants at the Nov. 20 event, which included make-up demonstrations. The UJA-Federation of New York sponsored the project.
