Suspect found in Lawrence shooting

An Inwood man has been arrested for an Aug. 15 shooting that injured two men and a 10-year-old girl.

Justin Shaw, 20, of Mott Avenue in Inwood, was arrested on Sept. 3 on the corner of Mott Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. Police said Shaw was one of two men that allegedly followed a group of men down Lawrence Avenue and began shooting at them. Two men were injured, one in the foot and the other in the thigh. A 10-year-old girl sitting in the back of a car parked nearby suffered a burn to her neck from one of the bullets that passed through the driver’s side windshield of the vehicle.

Shaw was charged with two counts of second-degree attempted murder, three counts of assault, three counts of criminal use of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. He was arraigned on Sept. 4 in First District Court in Hempstead.
