Bon appétit! Cedarhurst-based anti-poverty think tank, Rock and Wrap It Up! (RWU) is hosting a Taste of Charity fundraiser at the Seawane Club in Hewlett Harbor at 7 p.m., on Nov. 7.

The event will feature one or two of the best menu items from local restaurants for guests to sample. Wine and soft drinks will be served. Kosher and non-kosher options will be available.

“The more that we can raise awareness of poverty, but more importantly, the more that we give solutions that people can get support locally,” said Syd Mandelbaum, founder of RWU, explaining the goal of this event.

Admission is $75 per person in advance, $85 per person at the door or $100 per person for a reserved table in advance with a minimum of 10 people. Sponsorship levels are $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000. Each level includes a listing on event signage and admission.

As of press time, Friendlier Pizza in Woodmere, Da Nicola Restaurant in Hewlett, Dolce Confections in Hewlett and Flushing-based Max and Mina’s Ice Cream are the confirmed eateries. Raffles and auctions will be available for guests.
