Boxes of letters covered a conference room table in the White House as 40 children from Young Israel of Woodmere and Rabbis Shalom Axelrod and Shay Schacter brought missives of thanks to the Biden Administration for its support of Israel.

The more than 17,000 letters were delivered on Oct. 18, where the kids shared their connections to Israel and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff spoke to them offering words of encouragement.

“We must take comfort knowing that the times have changed drastically, and that the highest elected officials in the United States are proactively doing everything they can to protect and support our people and our homeland,” synagogue officials wrote in an email.
