— Chabad of the Beaches Carnival

— City’s Manager’s 10-mile 5K

The Long Beach Recreation Department will hold the 42nd annual City Manager’s 10-mile 5K Race to Remember on Sunday, May 27. The race is dedicated to the memory of race founder Ralph Kaplan. For more info, call (516) 431-3890.

– Memorial Day Parade

The city of Long Beach will pay tribute to veterans with the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at Ohio Avenue and West Beech Street and ends at the reviewing stand on Park Avenue in front of City Hall. The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will be joined by city, county and state officials.

— An artful Saturday

All ages are invited to can explore their creativity at Nassau County Museum of Art’s Studio Saturday, May 26, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Come by the Manes Center to create projects and work inspired by the art on view in the current exhibition, “Anything Goes: The Jazz Age.” Spend up to an hour exploring a range of materials, techniques, and themes.
