Franklin Place in Woodmere was a worn, torn and pothole-filled roadway, but a $320,000 Town of Hempstead road improvement project has repaired the street that runs between Central Avenue and West Broadway in Woodmere.
Garden City-based Gold Coast Pavers, which won the job through a competitive bidding process, according to town officials, installed new asphalt pavement and new pedestrian access ramps at Franklin Place’s three intersections.
“One way we invest in our communities is by improving our roadways,” said Supervisor Kate Murray. “Upgrading our streets saves money in the long term , while making roadways safer and aesthetically pleasing for neighbors.”
