The Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB) is selling two 1-acre parcels of its 399,561.9-square-feet Hewlett Bay Park campus that houses Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls.

Hewlett Bay Park’s village board voted unanimously to grant permission of the sale at its October meeting. For sale signs have been up for nearly two months.

“We have two parcels what we thought we can sell and use the money to help fund campus projects,” said HALB Executive Director Richard Hagler. “All the money is put back into the schools.” Hagler said that the most likely purchasers of the two parcels would be people looking to build a home.

HALB runs a kindergarten through eighth grade school that was in Long Beach and is moving into the former Number Six School on Church Avenue in Woodmere. The property was purchased from the Lawrence school District for $8.5 million last year.

Lev Chana Early Childhood Center, also on the Hewlett Bay Park campus, Davis Renov Stahler High School for Boys in Woodmere and the Avnet Country Day School in Cedarhurst are also operated by HALB.
