Police arrested two men for the Sept. 4 shooting death of Inwood resident Desmond Kelly.

Two men, James Currie, 25 of Endolwood Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina and Tyshaun Jacobs, 23, of Long Beach Road in Oceanside were charged with murder-second degree on Sept. 6 for the shooting death of Desmond Kelly, 30, of Wanser Avenue in Inwood on Sept. 4. Currie was arraigned on Sept. 6 and Jacobs was arraigned on Sept. 7.
Police responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance at 46 Wanser Ave. at 8:56 p.m. that Saturday. They found Kelly with multiple gun shots inside the building. He was pronounced dead at the scene nearly 20 minutes later. Police said that both alleged gunmen were inside Kelly's home when they shot him with a handgun.
