Two arrested for robberies in Lawrence and Inwood

A woman, 44, and her 13-year-old son came home and found, Ervin Rodriguez, inside the house carrying the woman’s laptop at 12:25 a.m. on Sept. 22, police said.

Rodriguez struck the woman in the face with the computer, dropped the laptop and fled, headed north on Lawrence Avenue, according to police. The woman refused medical attention for what police called a “minor injury” to her face.

The police caught Rodriguez, 28, of Burnside Avenue in Lawrence in a nearby yard and arrested him. He is charged with burglary-first degree and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 22.

After allegedly removing a gold cross and chain that was affixed to a religious statue at Our Lady of Good Council Church at 68 Wanser Ave. in Inwood at 11 a.m. on Sept. 21, David Campbell was arrested by police.

            Campbell, 33, also of Inwood, was seen wearing the chain and cross on Sept. 23 and taken into custody without incident. He was charged with one count of grand larceny and will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 24
