Two women arrested, charged with robbery

Fourth Squad detectives arrested two Inwood residents on Jan. 14 for the alleged robbery of a young woman in Lawrence that occurred on July 18 at 12:30 a.m.

Police said that while walking on Lawrence Avenue, the woman, 18, was approached by Christine Autry, 17, and her mother Pristine Autry, 39. Earlier in the night, Christine Autry and the victim had a confrontation, police said.

Both Autrys then repeatedly punched, choked, kicked and bit the woman and stole her handbag that contained cash and a cell phone, according to police. They then fled the scene.

The Autrys, both of 92 Lord Ave., were arrested at their home. Arraigned on Jan. 15, they were both charged with robbery-second degree.

Robbery in Lawrence

A 51-year-old woman parked her car in an underground garage in Lawrence and was approached by a man wearing a black ski mask on Jan. 16 at 11:35 p.m., police said.

He demanded jewelry and the keys to her vehicle, and forcibly removed $47 and the car keys from the woman’s coat pocket and fled on foot.

The woman was not injured. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau county Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477.
