Vehicle crashes into Mott Avenue home

Occupant suffered minor injuries in Inwood accident

A vehicle driven by a man who fled the scene struck a Mott Avenue home in Inwood, which resulted in the elderly occupant of the house being taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment minor injuries on Feb. 27, just after 6 p.m., according to police.

The vehicle hit the house at 52 Mott Ave. near West End Avenue, police said. Three trucks from the Inwood Fire Department responded to the scene under the direction of Assistant Chief Anthony Rivelli Sr.

The firefighters secured the home’s utilities and reviewed the structural integrity of the damaged Neither he nor the vehicle was found. The Town of Hempstead Building Department was notified regarding the damaged home. The investigation is continuing, police said.
