Welcoming new scouts in Hewlett

Posted

Hewlett-based Cub Scout Pack 20 under the leadership of David Dorsey held their annual Blue and Gold ceremony to accept new scouts into Boy Scout Troop 20 at Trinity-St. John Episcopal Church, also in Hewlett, on Jan. 26.

Max Fried and Andrew Spencer advanced into Troop 20. Both the Boy and Cub scouts work with the Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association to help beautify the area and are always working on conservation projects and look forward to visits at Five Towns Premier Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Woodmere.

State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, a Democrat who represents the Five Towns, and State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin, a fellow Dem who represents Hewlett, attended the event and honored the scouts for their civic involvement and dedication to their community.
