Woodmere car crash

A two-car crash resulted in injuries to two people, a utility pole being damaged and power being out for a brief time on Dec. 11 in the area of Peninsula and Woodmere boulevards in Woodmere.

At 12:45 p.m., the two vehicles collided, with one crashing head on into a utility pole at the intersection. Traffic heading east on Peninsula Boulevard was closed for a short time as the vehicles were removed from the scene.

Nassau County Police ambulances took both the driver and the passenger from the car that struck the pole to local hospitals for treatment. None of the injuries appeared to be life threatening, officials said.
