Eta Bienenstock, Barbara and David Goldenberg and Michelle Sulzberger, all of Woodmere, were recognized for their volunteer work at the 18th annual Kulanu’s Chai (life) dinner at the Sephardic Temple in Cedarhurst on Dec. 13. The quartet also received certificates of recognition from Town of Hempstead Councilman Bruce Blakeman.

Bienenstock and Sulzberger were presented with the Volunteer Recognition Award and the Goldenburgs received the Amundei Chesed (kindness) Award). The gala included what was described as a “lavish dinner,” desserts and the comedy of Steven Scott. Proceeds support the services and programs that Cedarhurst-based Kulanu Academy provides to children and young adults with special needs, and their families.
