For once I can agree with you Al about the high school taxes. What you should say is we need to consolidate our school districts either by county or township. One each for Nassau/Suffolk or in Nassau one for Oyster Bay, Hempstead and North Hempstead. Next we need to freeze all school salaries above 100k and limit raises to 1-2% a year for all others. Our biggest problem is pensions the max payout needs to be limited to 75k a year. We also need to do this to our out of site Police salaries and pensions. If the Republicans under Tom Gullotta had any balls instead of giving away the store to get elected we might not be in this tax mess.
