A Broadway hit in Elmont

“Nine,” a musical based on Fellini’s classic film “8½,” will be presented by the BroadHollow Theatre Company through Sunday, April 1.

The Broadway-hit musical centers on film director Guido Contini and his attempts to come up with a plot for his next film. He’s pursued by hordes of beautiful women, all clamoring to be loved by him and him alone. The theater group promises a show filled with extravagant costumes and a set that mimics an Italian villa.

The cast is led by Chris Dufrenoy, who plays Guido. Guido is married to Luisa, played by Tamralynn Dorsa. Unfortunately, they are estranged because Guido is easily tempted by “the beautiful people” constantly surrounding him and he doesn’t stop himself from acting on his fondness of the ladies. His other women include Carla, played by Jaclyn Casano, and Claudia, played by Nicole Intravia.

A highlight of the performance is Guido’s memorable “I Can’t Make This Movie.”

“Nine” will be performed at the Elmont Memorial Library on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Advance tickets: $25 adults; $23 seniors; $18 students; and $14 for children under 12. Door tickets: $28. Group rates available. Call (631) 581-2700 or email bhtgroupsales@aol.com. Box office: (516) 775-4420.
