The Nassau County Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians welcomes fall with its annual AOH Feis & Festival. Experience all things Irish at this most traditional celebration of Irish dance, music, piping, drumming, and athletics, presented by the Nassau County Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. This 18th century tradition lives on in Nassau County, where the AOH’s eight strong divisions join to organize competitions of dance and piping and present awards to the best. There are games for children, and much more, including a performance by the McLean Avenue Band.

Seaside Spectacular Car Show

Whether you want to spend a relaxing day admiring vintage collector cars or listening to music or both, the Town of Hempstead’s annual Seaside Car Show is the place to be. Car enthusiasts will want to check out the many classic vehicles on view, including a display of movie cars. Local bands perform and the beach beckons.

Migrating Birds’ Nature Walk
September is great time for bird watching when many species pass through the area as they start their fall migration. Wander through Muttontown Preserve with a naturalist to see some of the birds in action, including the Cedar Waxwing and Lawrence’s Warbler. A bird bander is also on hand to give a demonstration of the procedure used to track birds through their travels.
