The Elmont Union Free School District held an International Ambassadors’ Reception to welcome the district’s newest delegation of fifth and sixth-grade students on Feb. 1, at the Dutch Broadway School in Elmont.

Model UN Program Advisor Michael Sakowich led a discussion of the program during the district event, educating students and parents on the district’s annual Model UN conference and program, which aims to help students learn about globalization, communications and diplomacy. Model UN students research countries and act as foreign diplomats to simulate the UN.
