Looking for a way to honor a veteran?

Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick is seeking nominations for the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame, an online tribute to the lives of distinguished veterans from Nassau County and throughout New York State who displayed outstanding qualities in both service to their country and to their community.

“As the daughter of a Korean War veteran, I believe it is imperative to uplift those who have sacrificed so much to serve our nation with courage and honor,” Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick said in a statement. “My district is home to veterans of several foreign conflicts, and they have had an unparalleled positive impact on our local communities. The Senate Veterans Hall of Fame is just one way to give our local veterans the respect, gratitude, and admiration that they deserve.”

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick is currently accepting nominations for the 2023 inductee to represent the 9th District at a virtual ceremony in November. Nominations should include a high-resolution photo, a short biography highlighting the nominee’s military service, and civilian service awards and achievements. Nominations should be emailed to canzoneri@nysenate.gov no later than Aug. 28.

The 9th District includes Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, Lynbrook, Franklin Square, Elmont, Hewlett, Woodmere, Inwood, Lawrence, Valley Stream, and Lido Beach. Call Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick’s district office at (516) 766-8383 for more information.
