Faire Days
There’s still time to journey back to the days of 14th Century royal revelry at the colorful Medieval Festival on the grounds of the former Gold Coast estates at Sands Point Preserve. The popular event features nights in shining armor, medieval archers and kings and queens. Knights on horseback thrill the crowds with jousting behind Hempstead House, along with period entertainment, and more.

International Adventures

AOH Feis & Festival
Experience all things Irish at that most traditional celebration of Irish dance, music, piping, drumming, and athletics, known as a feis, presented by the Nassau County Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The 18th century tradition lives on in Nassau County, where the AOH's eight strong divisions join to organize competitions of dance and piping and present awards to the best. There are competitions in Irish singing and art as well, games for children, and much more.

Italian Experience
That popular area tradition, Hofstra University’s annual Italian Experience, returns for its 18th year. One of the largest festivals of its kind in the U.S., the day features a full range of crafts, entertainment and tasty treats. Entertainment includes Michael Amante, affectionately known as “the people’s tenor”; I Giullari Di Piazza, an Italian theater group; The San Remo Duo; “Pop-era” featuring members of The Bronx Opera Company; Katie’s Puppets; along with authentic Italian band music performed by Our Lady of Good Counsel Band.
