Sewanhaka grad passes peacefully

Marilyn June Russell Healey, 78, a former student at Sewanhaka High School, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011. Her son and daughter were by her side when she died peacefully at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Born in Floral Park, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Aloysius Russell and Otillie E. Sporck Russell. At Sewanhaka High School, Healey focused on secretarial studies. Throughout her life, she was employed by Long Island Assosiation, Jo Landes Stake Services and Rand International.

Healey is survived by her best friend and husband of 55 years, Arthur Charles Healey, Sr. The couple moved to West Babylon in 1952 where they remained for 33 years, until retiring in 1992 to Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Healey is also survived by her son, Arthur Charles Healey, Jr., and his wife, Melissa Robinson-Healey, who live in Southborough, Mass.; her daughter, Barbara Healey-Statzer, and her daughter’s husband, Rick Statzer; and her five grandchildren, Shannon Healey, Erin Healey, Kathryn Healey, John A. Bohanon and Brianna E. Bohanon.

Services were held on June 11, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville.
