Warrior Scholar Project visits UBS Arena for military appreciation night

Veterans Day offers the community a chance to show their thanks for those who have served their country. Warrior-Scholar Project, an organization whose mission is to help veterans successfully utilize their GI Bill benefits, took the opportunity to educate veterans on how they can be empowered in higher education.

During the first intermission of the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals game on Nov. 11, Ryan Pavel, chief executive of the Warrior-Scholar Project, participated in an in-game interview to share a bit more about the organization.

With every ticket sold for the Nov. 11 game, $5 was donated to Warrior-Scholar Project to help support enlisted veterans pursue higher education.

Warrior-Scholar Project offers its services at no cost to service members without a bachelor’s degree, and its academic boot camps introduce veterans to college-level material while learning strategies to become better students.
