The Freeport school district’s proposed budget for 2023-24 is just under $238.8 million, an increase of slightly more than $29 million over the current year, and there is no tax levy increase. The district saved taxpayers money through refinancing, completed $29.2 million in capital projects, received funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, and planned upgrades for security, HVAC systems, athletics, and various learning spaces.
