Juvenile arrested for possessing firearm on Freeport school grounds

A Juvenile has been arrested by First Squad Detectives and Freeport Police for the offense of having a firearm on school premises. The incident took place on June 12 at 12 p.m. in Freeport.

Detectives received information that a student at Freeport High School was seen in a photograph holding what appeared to be a firearm inside a school restroom. The school principal was promptly notified, leading to the involvement of the police, who conducted a thorough investigation. The 16-year-old male was apprehended without any complications.

The Juvenile now faces charges for Criminal Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds and will be presented before the First District Court in Hempstead for arraignment on June 14.
