A Freeport Fire Department vehicle was broadsided and then flipped over on Friday, August 10. The accident occurred on North Ocean Avenue. “A firefighter was returning from a training exercise when the accident occured,” Ray Maguire, Executive Director of the Freeport Fire Department, said. “The firefighter and the other driver were transported to a nearby hospital and later released without serious injury.”
