Great Neck North is wearing Cinderella's shoes again. The Blazers, who reached the Nassau Class A boys' basketball semifinals last season as the No. 15 seed, are back in the semis after pulling off a 55-51 upset of top-seeded Lawrence on Wednesday night.

Evan Dorman had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Jonah Gorjian added 15 points as Great Neck North avenged last year's semifinal defeat to the Golden Tornadoes, who finished 16-3. The Blazers meet No. 5 Jericho on Tuesday at SUNY-Old Westbury.

Sixth-seeded Hewlett won impressively for the second time this postseason, rolling to a 61-46 victory over No. 14 Roslyn. Harrison Brenner paced the Bulldogs with 16 points, while Bryan Eckerle and Weldon Irvine chipped in 10 points apiece. In Tuesday's other semifinal, Hewlett faces No. 2 South Side, a 68-57 winner over No. 10 Wantagh in the quarterfinals.

Playing his first full game in three weeks, Ryan Spadaford was dominant for the Cyclones in the opening half with 18 points and nine rebounds. He finished the night with a game-high 27 points and 13 boards, Kevin Coyle chipped in 14 points and six rebounds, and Robert Picchioni added 11 points.

In Class AA, a rematch of last year's championship game between Elmont and Baldwin is on tap for Monday at 7 p.m. at Old Westbury. The third-seeded defending county champion Spartans advanced with a 46-38 win over No. 6 Herricks, and the No. 2 Bruins cruised to an 80-51 triumph over seventh-seeded Great Neck South. Top-seeded Uniondale meets No. 4 Farmingdale in the other semifinal.

Baldwin's girls' team kept its drive for a third straight county title alive Wednesday night with a 56-42 win over No. 8 Farmingdale. The top-seeded Lady Bruins, who face No. 4 Uniondale in a Class AA semifinal on Tuesday at C.W.
