Two sky divers were arrested on Sept. 9, after they landed on the beach during the Quiksilver Pro N.Y. semifinals, where Kelly Slater was competing against fellow pro surfer Taj Burrow. City officials said the men did not have permission for the stunt.

Two men were arrested during the semi-finals of the Quiksilver Pro N.Y. on Sept. 9, after the men parachuted from a helicopter. Though their names have not been released, the Long Beach Police Department said that one was a 29-year-old man from Salt Lake City, Utah, and the other a 33-year-old man from Lehi, Utah. Both were arrested at the Edwards Blvd. beach, and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. Sources said the stunt was not authorized by the city.
