About four inches of rain and high-winds hit Long Beach on Saturday and Sunday, felling trees, taking down power lines and flooding streets. While power was knocked out in pockets throughout the city, the West End got the brunt of the storm. At one point during Saturday, the strong winds knocked power out throughout the area, leaving some15,000 residents in the dark. As of Monday morning, the City of Long Beach said that the Long Island Power Authority is continuing to work to restore power in all areas throughout the city.
