Board meeting
The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at the middle school at 8 p.m. on Feb. 9.
Winter recess
Middle School parents meet
Grade 7 parent night will be on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at LBMS. Grade 6 parent night will take place on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
Surfboard shaping class
The LBHS Surf Club will host an evening of surfboard shaping with Mike Becker of Natures Shapes on Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Room 116 in the high school. There will be raffles and prize drawings, including a Natures Shapes surfboard. Admission is $5.
Out-of-district transportation request
For parents of students attending out-of-district programs for the 2010-2011 school year, applications must be submitted to the Long Beach Public Schools Transportation Department, at 659 Lido Boulevard, prior to May 1. For information call 897-2132.
Free echo cardiogram screening
The Long Beach School District will be offering free echo cardiogram screening program for 8th grade student athletes at 8 a.m. on March 20 at the Long Beach Middle School.
