With the Winter Olympics a month away, Long Beach is getting in the spirit of the figure skating events, as the City of Long Beach and Long Beach Skating Academy hosted the Ice Skating Holiday Show in honor of National Skating Month at the Ice Arena last Saturday.
Some 30 new and experienced skaters, from Long Beach and throughout Nassau County, who use the facility to train for competitions, gave the audience of about 150 friends and family a taste of their dedicated work.
The show consisted of students from the rink’s skating academy, directed by Roberta Dunn, and included everyone from youngsters to seniors and the nationally ranked Joelle Forte.
