What a pair of Eagles

John McQuade of Long Beach earned the coveted Eagle Scout award and will be presented with his Eagle badge at the Court of Honor on April 18. A Scout in Troop 332 of East Rockaway, McQuade, 15, and his father, Frank, completed the first father-son pairing of Eagle Scouts in the 57-year history of Troop 332. Frank became an Eagle Scout in 1971. John is a sophomore at Kellenberg Memorial High School.

Also earning the Eagle Rank for Troop 332 at this year’s Court of Honor were Alex Orandello, Tim Ryan and Paul Ezauwi. 2010 marks the Centennial Year for the Boy Scouts of America, having been founded in 1910.
