East Rockaway Classic Car Show raises funds to fight multiple sclerosis

With the threat of bad weather looming, the annual fundraiser, held in conjunction with the Aug. 1 Classic Car show, was a hit.

This year, the money went toward research for multiple sclerosis. “We chose a different cause to donate to every year,” said Richie Cittadino, coordinator of the car show. “Someone I work with, his wife is afflicted with the disease. She is an advocate for the illness, and raises money for the cause.”

Many beautiful cars were on display, and a 50/50 raffle and Chinese auction was held to raise money. At last count, the total raised for the fundraiser was $1,980.

“I want to thank the car owners and spectators for their support,” Cittadino added. “The car show ends for the season on August 29. Come and join us!”
