Mini-golf at the library
The Lynbook Library is kicking off the summer reading program for kids by turning the library into an indoor mini-golf course. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the friends of the library. The course will be open on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Family movie
The Lynbrook Recreation Department is hosting the first family movie night of the summer on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The family friendly film “Zootopia” will be screened at the recreation center at Greiss Park, located at 55 Wilbur St.
The pre-prom parades approach
The Villages of East Rockaway and Lynbrook are hosting their annual pre-prom events on Wednesday, June 22. East Rockaway High School’s event will be held on the Main Street canal from 3 p.m. until 5. In the event of rain, the pre prom event will be moved to East Rockaway High School. Lynbrook will host its pre-prom parade on Atlantic Ave. from 4 p.m. until 6.
On stage
You’ll be feeling the beat when the Plaza Theatrical Productions’ stages “All Shook Up,” the jukebox musical tribute to Elvis Presley. Journey back to 1955 when the young roustabout had everyone shakin’ things up, on Sunday, at The Showplace at the Bellmore Movies. Info: (516) 599-6870 or www.plazatheatrical.com.
Rockin’ the beach
Town Park Point Lookout is the scene for some summertime tunes, as the Town of Hempstead celebrates Independence Day with its annual festivities, beginning with a salute to veterans, Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a tribute to Abba and the Bee Gees with Abbamania and Night Fever, followed by fireworks.
