Villages honor war dead on Monday, May 27
Lynbrook's Memorial Day parade route
The Village of Lynbrook will host its annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27 with the following schedule:
From 8:30 to 9 a.m.: Cake and coffee will be served at the VFW, Merrick Road.
8:45: Assembly for VFW Post Services
9:00: VFW Services at the Flag pole
9:30: AM Parade Muster at staging area (see map)
9:45: Parade begins, See map
Services immediately following parade at the Doughboy Monument behind the Lynbrook LIRR.
East Rockaway's annual Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 27. The parade will start at 10 a.m. beginning at VFW Hall, 164 Main Street, going east along Main Street to Ocean Avenue, then north on Ocean Avenue to Centre Avenue, traveling west on Centre Avenue to Atlantic Avenue, turning south on Atlantic Avenue to Woods Avenue, gonig past the reviewing stand in front of Memorial Park and East Rockaway Village Hall at 376 Atlantic Ave. Any veterans who wish to participate in the parade can contact Bill Halvorsen at (516) 599-5335 (leave a message with your call back number); or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
