Two bodies found in North Lynbrook
Mary Malloy/Herald
Police are investigating the death of two people found in a home on Catherine Street in North Lynbrook.

Nassau County Police and detectives are investigating two deaths that occurred at 22A Catherine Street in North Lynbrook on Thursday morning.

At this time, detectives confirmed that two bodies were found, a husband and wife, 70 and 73 years old. There were apparent wounds on the man only at this time in the investigation. According to Det. Vincent Garcia, it appears that the woman died of natural causes and the man of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

There is speculation that one or both of the victims could be related to someone in Nassau County D.A. Kathleen Rice's office. Rice personally visited the crime scene.

In fact, in an Internet search, two of the names of people who have lived at that address in the last three years match the surnames of current or former investigators in the D.A.'s office — although as of press time, none of this has been confirmed.

Detectives confirmed that the woman was an invalid and the home had a handicap ramp. A woman was seen exiting an ambulance that was parked across the street from the house.

The otherwise quiet, tree-lined street was cordoned off during the investigation.

Check back with the Herald for my details as they unfold.
