Overcast Duck hunter and best friend stranded
Marine units, county and village East Rockaway Fire Department aid in rescue

After a duck hunter lost his watercraft, he became stranded on the marsh south of Bay Park in East Rockaway. With his dog wet from being in the freezing water and with the temperature dropping fast, the East Rockaway Fire Department, along with Nassau County Police Marine units were called to the location. The Nassau County Police used a helicopter to check the situation from the air. After the man was located the Nassau Police Marine unit and the fire department put boats in the water to rescue the man and his dog.
