The Village of East Rockaway, in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce, held its annual fundraising car show event on Main Street Monday night, this year supporting the Long Island chapter of Mended Little Hearts.

Co-founded by Kaitlyn Beleckas and Shannan Pearsall, Mended Little Hearts is part of a national support organization for parents of children with heart defects and heart disease (Beleckas’s daughter, Reagan, was born with multiple holes and congenital heart defects related to the left side of her heart, and Shannan’s son, Aidan, was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.) They offer resources and a support network for families to find answers and move forward to find healing and hope.

“It’s a great turnout,” said East Rockaway car show coordinator Rich Cittadino. “We’re very happy with the event — and it’s for a great cause.”
