Bryan Lanzello was recently named Lynbrook’s Businessman of the Year by the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce.

The council honored 36 businesspeople of the year from across the county at its 35th annual Legislative Breakfast on Oct. 18, including Lanzello, of Bryan Christopher Lanzello Roofing and Remodeling Inc.

“The most inspiring part of my job,” Lanzello said, “is working with people, meeting new faces and turning people’s dreams into reality.”

Lanzello is hands-on, meeting with clients and twice a day stopping at construction sites to oversee work. Then he returns to his office to review project timelines and goals and to generate estimates for customers.

Lanzello Roofing and Remodeling has been in the home- improvement industry for 12 years. The company remodels bathrooms, decks, railings, interiors and kitchens, installs dormers and extensions, and oversees masonry, roofing and siding work.

Lanzello has become a fixture in the Lynbrook and Hewlett communities. “Bryan was overwhelmingly chosen by members of the chamber,” Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce President Steve Wangel said. “He runs a successful contracting business, providing employment for many and quality home improvements for his clients. His commitment to the Lynbrook community is evident wherever you go. He was just the natural choice.”

Lanzello said he never imagined himself as a business owner, but then he began full-time remodeling work and found that he had a knack for it. He started his business when he was 27, and it wasn’t easy.

“When I first started out, I was scared out of my mind because I didn’t know if I would fail,” he said. “Owning my own business helped me realize that I have a strong work ethic, and I believe in working hard and pushing my limits.”

Lanzello is very involved in the community. In January, the Lynbrook chamber honored him for all that he does in the village. He donated a flowerbed to Our Lady of Peace Church, and is president of the Lynbrook Titans Youth Football League, as well as a board member. He was the village’s Businessman of the Year in 2017, and received a plaque for his work with Titans football at the annual Mayor’s Golf Outing last June. And he is active in the Lynbrook Little League, the Lynbrook Roller Hockey League and the Valley Stream Youth Council, for which he was named Youth Council Advocate of the Year in 2013.

Lanzello said he takes pride in his work, and he is known for saying, “It’s my name on the job,” which motivates him to give his best while completing the work. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children, Damon, Arianna, Mason and Gavin.

According to Lanzello, working in the home-improvement business helped him recognize how much he loves helping people. “I love to give back and to donate my time,” he said. “I’m all about my community and town, and I’ll do anything for the town and for a customer, because I never hesitate to help someone in need.”
