It was a joyous Friday evening of fancy speeches, proud parents, and gold and green caps and gowns at Marion Street School field during the 2010 graduation ceremony of Lynbrook High School.

Valedictorian Chelsea Goldinger and Salutatorian Daniel Trotter lavished each graduate with encouraging words. “Remember to reflect on the past and dream of the future,” Trotter said. He praised his teachers them for giving him and his classmates so many opportunities to become actively involved in the learning process, and acknowledged the support of family and friends.

In her valedictory address, Chelsea Goldinger recalled not her proudest moment, but her most embarrassing—falling flat on her face entering the high school building on the very first day of ninth grade. Goldinger instructed the class to leave their legacies at LHS and remember to “fall forward.”

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Santo J. Barbarino told the graduates to follow their dreams. “My hope is that this class will create their own front entrances ...you have truly touched us all.”
